SS Loong Sang, owned by Indo China Steam Navigation, sank in Hong Kong harbour during a typhoon, 1923
Dheeraj Khiytani has kindly sent the following information about the SS Loong Sang.
The SS Loong Sang was built in 1896 at William Gray & Company Ltd shipyard in West Hartlepool, UK.
From 1896 to 1898 she was owned by the Elder Dempster Lines Ltd – African Steamship Company.
And from 1898 to 1923 she was owned by the Indo China Steam Navigation Company.
On August 18th, 1923, the British steel cargo LOONG SANG sank after a collision, off Hong Kong waterfront.

Caption on photograph: S.S. Loong Sang just after she sank. S.S. Empress of Australia riding out the typhoon in view & powerless to do anything to help. Just as this was taken the French mail S.S. André Lebon had broken cables & was drifting down on the Empress but luckily missed & went straight out to sea.
