The Association for the Rights of Industrial Accident Victims

Thanks to Mak Ho Yin who has translated the Association’s website About Us- History: “The Association for the Rights of Industrial Accident Victims is a non-profit making organization set up by those suffering from industrial accident injuries and occupation diseases, as well as family members of those deceased killed by industrial accidents. The manufacturing industry in Hong Kong started to prosper in 1960s and 1970s, however the cost for fellow workers to build a better society was their health or even their lives. At the same time legal protection for industrial accident victims or their families was insufficient. With the support from a group of volunteers who cared for workers’ rights and their occupational safety, the Association was set up in 1981, with an aim of providing supporting services for victims of industrial accidents and occupational diseases, and to improve the standard of occupational safety.”
