BAAG records of shipping in HK during 1944-45 – the Shifu Maru
Elizabeth Ride has British Army Aid Group (BAAG) records of shipping movements for 1944-45 in Hong Kong during the Japanese occupation in World War Two.
These provide information not only about the ships themselves but what cargo was being brought into and out of Hong Kong during the latter stages of WW2, passengers carried, and of godowns, docks etc that were being utilised.

The Shifu Maru, a cargo ship, was seen on 9 July 1944
Arrived on 4 July 1944 from Formosa
Inward cargo: 3,000 tons of rice half of which was discharged in HK and stored in China Provident Godowns, 300 tons of coal
Departed on 11 July 1944
Outward cargo: X
Transit cargo: Remaining half of the rice

No ship with this kanji located, It is likely 芝不丸 Chefoo Maru (42, 3218) built by Hakodate Dock K.K. and a sister to the Sainan Maru referenced in an earlier BAAG Report. Chefoo Maru visted Hong Kong regularly and was sunk 12 Jan 1945 in the Saigon River by US Naval planes bombing attack.
NB character suffix of Foo slightly different to that shown- as a Chinese character it does not feature in the Japanese word processing software I use,
