Submarine built in Hong Kong – 1968 – tested at Hebe Haven
HF: IDJ has sent in this report about the first private submarine built in Hong Kong. As he says this shows how versatile the students of the Far East Flying Training School (FEFTS) could be in their endeavours.
As you will see Mr Yuen constructed another submarine. I am presuming this was also made in Hong Kong though this is not specified in these articles. If so, I would imagine these remain the only submarines private, commercial or military made here. Am I wrong?

Just spotted another image of the first sub on eBay — apparently it merited coverage from United Press International:

It seems at least the hull of one of Charles’ submarines still survives — see here:

Useful additional information Mike
One of your links produces, “The pressure hull was purpose built by Charles Yuen Submarines in Kowloon Hong Kong with a collapse depth rating of 1200 ft. I bought it as a basket case of rusted throw away parts and stripped in clean and junked everything but the hull and re-designed all of the systems to make it operational.”
I wonder if anyone has information about Charles Yuen after 1968.
