Keeping Hong Kong Moving – 1979 White Paper on Internal Transport Policy

AC kindly left a comment on our Q+A45 Proposed fixed crossing to Lantau Island, late 1970s. AC’s comment included a link to a A White Paper on Internal Transport Policy published in May 1979 titled Keeping Hong Kong Moving. I thought this was of sufficient interest and relevance to our website to include information extracted from it in its own article.

It’s a fairly lengthy report and I thought the best way to cover the its contents was to list subjects covered with reasonably brief extracts taken from it.

The report is almost devoid of images so I have added a few found elsewhere to add a bit of “colour”.
